Description
This summer, Youth in Food Systems and Nurture are running a youth-led school garden program, and we are looking for adults with knowledge and experience in food production to act as Advisors!
Our 16 school teams (each with 3-4 youth aged 12-19) will benefit greatly from having a wider network of folks to assist with troubleshooting challenges and creating innovative solutions in their gardens this summer. These Advisors should be confident working as an adult ally with these teams on at least one distinct area of substantial knowledge.
The Advisor role is a volunteer position in the project. In an effort to recognize the time and effort contributed by Advisors, small tokens of appreciation will be available in the form of gift cards for local businesses in Waterloo Region.

Training Details: Optional attendance at youth trainings on June 1 and/or June 8 to meet the youth teams you'll be assisting.
One-to-one call with a staff member to review and chat through all the details.

You will have an opportunity to outline your availability when signing up. There is considerable flexibility!
This role is on an "as needed" basis. The youth teams will have access to a database of Advisors to use when encountering a particular challenge in the garden. You may be "called on" every week, or perhaps not at all - depending on your availability and expressed knowledge area(s).
