   About the Position

Impact Statement
Founded in 1998, Sunnyside Foundation is a registered charity whose mission is to secure financial support to help enhance the well-being and quality of life for the residents and community served by Sunnyside Seniors' Services.

Sunnyside Foundation is at an arms-length from the Region of Waterloo operating as an independent organization. The enhancements that the Sunnyside Foundation is able to provide for Sunnyside Seniors’ Services is over and above what the Region of Waterloo and Ministry of Long-Term Care are able to provide.

The Sunnyside Foundation supports residents of Sunnyside Home long-term care, tenants of Sunnyside Supportive Housing, older adults in the region who use the Sunnyside Wellness Centre, participants in Community Alzheimer Programs and the Young Onset Dementia Association (YODA)

Sunnyside Foundation is seeking to elect a new Director to join the Sunnyside Foundation Board of Directors.

We invite you to be a part of a community who wants to enhance the well being and quality of life for everyone served by Sunnyside Seniors’ Services.

We are looking for someone who:

- is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of older adults in our community

- has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to respond pleasantly and professionally to those we serve

- is committed to spreading the principles of person-centred and emotion-focused care

- is able to fully engage in identifying and securing financial resources and partnerships

- wants to help organize and run fundraising events

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Successful candidates will receive the necessary orientation to act as a Director on the Board of Directors.
Working Conditions:
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening
2 hours bi-monthly, Tuesday evening meetings: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required for sub-committees and fundraising events.
