Peer Grief Support Facilitator

Spring 2025

Bereaved Families of Ontario - Midwestern Region

   About the Position

Impact Statement
Our peer grief support programs are not possible without the incredible care and compassion of our volunteer facilitators. We are actively recruiting facilitators to be able to support a wider range of grief experiences, and to expand our capacity to provide one-on-one support. If you are at a point in your grief where you feel ready to support others, please apply today.

Description
All of our grief support groups are facilitated by volunteers who are themselves grieving a loss, and offer a unique compassion and empathetic understanding of grief and grief support to our program members. Using your own grief experiences, as a peer support facilitator, you will believe in the benefits of peer support to facilitate bereaved individuals in a group setting.

We are looking for volunteers to participate in our Facilitator training to prepare themselves to facilitate our bereavement groups.

The groups we are looking for facilitators for are:

• Parents who are grieving the death of a child
• Our Living with Loss by Substance Use program
• A new group for older adults
• One-on-one support for individuals grieving a death of any kind.
