Impact Statement The Grand Valley Trail was built and maintained through a large network of volunteer maintenance workers who ensure a strong and safe trail system. A volunteer Board of Directors administers this not-for-profit organization and therefore we would not exist if not for our enthusiastic volunteers.

Description As the Program Director, you will work with board members and volunteers to plan, setup and host events and meetings to build our hiking and trail maintenance community. In this role, you will also cultivate relations with public agencies including municipal and regional governments, the GRCA, and foundations in order to obtain cooperation and expertise for the GVTA. Strong communications and organization skills are required and previous experience organizing events is an asset.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Orientation to organization and board provided. Working Conditions: With the exception of board meetings 10 times a year, most volunteer work is done independently at your home or office at your convenience between meetings. The director must have access to a phone, a computer and the internet. All our board meetings are virtual, many of our events are in-person within the Kitchener-Waterloo-Brantford area. Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Anytime The Board of Directors meet the second Tuesday evening of the month, for 10 months of the year (not January and July) for approximately 2 hours. The expectation would be that the Director completes at least 12 hours of independent volunteer work a month outside of these meetings.
