Rainbow Newcomers Connect

SPECTRUM Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space

   About the Position

Impact Statement
SPECTRUM's peer support groups are great opportunities to meet other people, to talk about whatever you currently have on your mind, and to make new friends! These events are ideal for those that want to socialize in an 2SLGBTQ+ friendly setting.

Rainbow Newcomers Connect is an informal, discussion based, drop-in program. This group is a space for anyone that identifies as a newcomer within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

As a co-host for the Rainbow Newcomers Connect, volunteers will require social and group facilitation skills and demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to the subject matter. Facilitators will be expected to welcome visitors, introduce them to others present, inform them of SPECTRUM resources if fitting, and facilitate and direct the conversations when necessary.
