Block Parents is Building Community!
The focus of the Waterloo Regional Block Parent Program is to recruit, screen and train volunteers to become Block Parents. Block Parents help build engaged and connected neighbourhoods where children, and other members of the community, feel safe when they’re walking to school, playing outside with friends, and being active in their neighbourhood. Volunteering for the Block Parent Program will help drive the mission of Building Safer Communities, One Block at a Time!

Description
Social Media Expertise Required! The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating a monthly calendar that, once approved, will be used to post to facebook and instagram at least once per week. These posts will educate the Region's communities (parents and children) on the benefits of using and volunteering for the Block Parent Program. The Social Media Coordinator is encouraged to attend monthly meetings to be part of the team and to understand the direction the program is heading.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training and Orientation Provided during Three Month Probationary Period
Working Conditions: Should be able to work independently, remotely, as a team, and face to face. Residing in the Region of Waterloo is an asset.

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Attendance at monthly meetings. 10 meetings per year on the last Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm. (except July and August) Encouraged to devote 6-8 hours per month and able to commit to one full year of involvement.
