Description The Business & Education Partnership connects local educators with community members who want to volunteer their time and expertise to support students' career development. We are seeking community members who would like to be added to our roster of community career speakers and mentors for the 2020-21 school year. By indicating your interest on the VAC website, we will follow up with you and have you complete a profile in advance of the next school year. In that profile you will be able to indicate what kinds of learning activities you are interested in supporting and where you are interested in volunteering in Waterloo Region (including virtually).
Training Details The BEP provides training and resources to help community members effectively share their knowledge, expertise and/or career story with local students.
Working Conditions You can make yourself available to volunteer virtually, or (when physical distances measures are no longer required) in local schools/workplaces, as you prefer.
Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail Time required for each volunteering opportunity varies based on the needs of the educator seeking a volunteer. For example, a speaking opportunity in a classroom may be only an hour or less. Volunteers will have the option to accept or decline invitations to volunteer for specific opportunities. Some volunteers may have more invitations than others, but we ask that volunteers aim to fulfill at least one request on an annual basis.
