Impact Statement Marillac Place resolves to give at-risk mothers the tools to become effective parents and self-supporting, responsible members of the community by offering safe, supportive accommodation with basic life skills training, child care guidance, and access to educational opportunities within the community. We provide chances for brighter futures to mother-led families, helping them break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
Description We are currently looking for individuals to contribute their skills in fundraising or board governance in a leadership role.

Board Members are expected to:

Prepare for and attend board meetings
Work as a team member and support board decisions
Participate in the review of the mission and objectives and the development of a strategic plan
Monitor the outcomes measures outlined in the strategic plan
Review and abide by the by-laws and other policies that apply to the board
Participate in the budget development/approval
Monitor financial performance in relation to the budget
Participate in a board orientation and be familiar with the contents of the Board Manual
Participate in one or more committees
Be an advocate/ambassador for Marillac Place and support organizational events
Keep abreast of external factors affecting the sector and Marillac Place
Review the Executive Director's performance and compensation

Timing Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Time Detail Directors shall be elected for a three (3) year term.
Monthly board meetings occur on the third Thursday of every month in the evening, committee meetings are flexible to committee members schedules.
