Board of Directors Member

J. Steckle Heritage Homestead

   About the Position

Impact Statement
Our volunteers are deeply committed to the success of the organization. The communities and families that we serve value the Steckle experience and come back year after year – many of the children who attend our programs come back to complete their High School volunteer hours at the farm. With farm animals, vegetable and crop gardens, buildings of historical significance, and partnerships with other community groups, Steckle Heritage Farm is a dynamic place where something is always going on. If you are interested in becoming an active participant reach out to us, we’d love to meet you.

Description
Each Board member is expected to serve the charity in the following ways:

-Be an active participant who commits to the work of the charity.
-Attend about eight Board meetings per year as well as the Annual General Meeting.
-Be prepared for the Board meetings by reviewing the meeting documentation in advance of the meeting.
-Volunteering to help out at one or two of our special events that are held during the year, for example, Easter Egg Hunt and Wake Up Santa.
-Board Officers take on additional responsibilities that require an additional 1 to 4 hours per meeting. For example, the Board President develops the agenda for each Board meeting, the Treasurer is responsible to report on the current financial position of the charity at each Board meeting and the Board Secretary records the minutes for each meeting.
