Description
The Medical Facility Volunteer will have the opportunity to learn in a real-life setting what skills and modalities are used to support people dealing with life issues including homelessness.
By interacting with the clients, through conversation, cards, board games, music etc. at Cambridge Shelter's Medical Facility, they will gain valuable experience. Especially beneficial for those pursuing a career in Human Services, Health Care or Social Services.
Volunteer's will be under the supervision of Facility staff and assist in duties deemed appropriate by their supervisor.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Will get an orientation to the organization and shadow a staff member or volunteer to get a feel for the position.
Working Conditions: Working with a dedicated team of staff. Minimal time standing or walking. No lifting or other physically strenuous activity.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route

Duration: 3 months or less
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening, Anytime
2-3 hours a week depending on volunteers schedule
