Impact Statement Client Support Volunteers provide emotional and social support, companionship and practical help to people with a life limiting illness and their families. Volunteers enrich people's lives by sharing their gifts of listening, caring, friendship, humour, respite care, and time.

Description Hospice is seeking Client Support Volunteers to provide emotional and social support to individuals living with a life-limiting illness and their families through friendly visiting.
We are looking for folks who are friendly, compassionate, dependable, trustworthy and great communicators. Supporting those who are living with a life-limiting illness can be such a wonderfully rewarding volunteer experience. We are in need of volunteers living in both Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge.
Day time availability is an asset. The time commitment for this role is 2-3 hours per week and we ask for a year of service.
We are also in need of volunteers who speak different languages in addition to English.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Client Support volunteers will be provided with a daytime in-person 35-hour volunteer training course. This training is provided free of charge. If you have daytime availability to attend training and for daytime volunteering, applications for this training are being accepted now. Working Conditions: Volunteers will support their client in the client's place of residence, be that home, hospice, hospital or long term care setting. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Daytime Volunteers will be ask to be available 2 to 4 hours each week after the training. Day time availability is preferred.
