   About the Position

Impact Statement
Through partnership with educators, business and government, Junior Achievement provides relevant business programs delivered by trained and inspired volunteers who share their practical experience to equip students with the skills to enter tomorrow's workforce.

Description
Volunteers do not need a particular background to be an effective Company Program Mentor. Most important is an ability to foster good teamwork and a desire to support youth in an impactful way.

Empower the next generation of business leaders as a JA Company Program Mentor!
Within a team of volunteers, Company Program Mentors become business advisors and facilitators for a group of 10-15 high school students. Mentors help foster students’ entrepreneurial spirit and support them through an 18-week journey where they create, manage, and liquidate a real start-up business. Resources, training, and support for volunteers are provided by JA.

-Must be available for a volunteer interview and complete all screening requirements (Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search)
-Confident presenting to and working with youth
-Relevant work and/or educational experience (Business, Finance, etc.)
-Good & effective communication skills with youth

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Prior to the program start, Company Program Volunteers receive the following supports:
- JA Company Program orientation package
- 2 hour group training session facilitated online
JA will provide all presentation content and resources needed to facilitate the program and ongoing support throughout the experience.
Working Conditions: Volunteers can choose to participate in-person or virtually.
Transportation: NONE Needed


Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Evening
This is an after-school program which takes place in the evening. Volunteers should be able to commit approximately 2-3 hours of their time per week for the 18 week session.
