   About the Position

Impact Statement
Volunteering at Langs provides opportunities for community members to give back to their community while developing leadership skills and gaining hands-on work experience.

Volunteers talk about the benefits of volunteering from meeting new people to developing new skills, all while having fun! Langs hosts a variety of student placements with high school, college and University Programs. Volunteering times during weekdays and weekday evenings, sorry no regular weekend volunteer opportunities.



Description
Volunteer Driver with a Class F license would drive our participants along with Recreation Staff to a variety of community outings. Hours are flexible, as volunteer could choose to volunteer monthly or weekly. Van includes up to 14 passengers. Trips could include: restaurants, market, etc, movie theatre, etc.
Clear driving abstract required. Vulnerable Sector Police check required.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Orientation to vehicle proviced
Orientation & training to Langs & satelite locations (Hespeler, North Dumfries)
Review of Bus manual.
Vehicle driving practice sessions provided prior first trip.
Health & Safety awareness training.
OADA (OntarioAccessibility & Disability Act)

Working Conditions: May need to load mobility aides (walkers) or parcels onto van.
Itinerary provided for the days escursion.
Work with a variety of age groups, depending upon the outing of the day.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: NONE Needed

Duration: 1 year or more
Anytime
Volunteer could drive monthly, weekly or biweekly.
