CAFKA is a non-profit, artist-run centre that aims to bring art out of the gallery, presenting it as a critical and integral part of community life, accessible to everyone. Between exhibitions, CAFKA presents public lectures, video and performance art, tours and workshops, and professional development opportunities for local artists.

Description
CAFKA is seeking volunteers for our Special Events Committee. As a sub-committee steered by the Fundraising Committee, the Special Events Committee will plan and implement special events happening in conjunction with our free exhibition of contemporary art in public spaces, 'Stay With Me', taking place across Waterloo Region from June 3 – July 22, 2023.
CAFKA actively recruits BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and people with disabilities to our board, staff, and volunteer team, working to bring their voices to the forefront of the decision-making process. Please feel welcome to self-identify in your application.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Will be provided by Board Members and organization
Working Conditions: Preparing for, attending and participating in Committee meetings (usually one meeting per month in the evening, and more frequently during the biennial; remote meetings by Zoom). Attendance of planned Marketing events is appreciated.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space
Transportation: On a bus route

Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Evening
Attend committee meetings typically once per month; dates and times to be determined by committee availability (often evening meetings).
