   About the Position

Impact Statement
CAFKA is a non-profit, artist-run centre that presents a free exhibition of contemporary art in public spaces across Waterloo Region once every two years. CAFKA takes contemporary art out of the gallery and presents it as a critical and integral part of community life, making it accessible to everyone. Between exhibitions, CAFKA presents public lectures, video and performance art, tours and workshops, and professional development opportunities for local artists.

Description
Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener + Area (CAFKA) is seeking a Treasurer for our Board of Directors for 1-2 terms. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance or past governance experience and can advise CAFKA’s staff and board with financial steering advice, audit support, and training with financial software and systems of organization.

CAFKA’s Board of Directors is a dedicated team of local professionals who generously volunteer their time serving on the board for 3-year terms.

CAFKA actively recruits BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and people with disabilities to our board, staff, and volunteer team, working to bring their voices to the forefront of the decision-making process. Please feel welcome to self-identify in your application.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training will be provided by Board Members and organization
Working Conditions: Preparing for, attending and participating in Board meetings (one meeting per month in the evening remote by Zoom). Participation in one or more Board committees is expected. Participation in annual campaigns, fundraisers, ongoing advocacy, staff recognition events etc. is appreciated.

Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening
Attend monthly Board meetings (usually 3rd Tuesday of the month, 7-9pm, year-round). Minimum commitment of one 3-year term (maximum 2 terms). Monthly commitment of 6-10 hours. Participation in one or more Board Committees.
