   About the Position

Impact Statement
Behind every person with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, there are hundreds of people dedicated to helping. The Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington is dedicated to providing help for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia and their caregivers in our community. Our dedicated board, staff and volunteers work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Description
During in-person Workshops, volunteers would:
•Arrive early to help set up program materials
•Welcome participants as they arrive and show them to the program space
•Participate in the creative project alongside participants
•Engage in conversation with participants during the program and help to answer any questions that arise
•Stay after the program to help clean up program materials

During virtual Workshops, volunteer would:
•Help to deliver workshop materials to clients’ residences
•Welcome participants as they log onto the Zoom call
•Participate in the creative project alongside participants
•Engage in conversation with participants during the program and help to answer any questions that arise

Due to Grant requirements associated with this program, applicants must be enrolled in a secondary school or post-secondary program and must be between the ages of 14-25.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: •Mandatory orientation training on the Creative Workshop program.
•Ongoing training and support through regular contact with the Program Coordinator.

Working Conditions: Virtual workshops are held via Zoom.

In person workshops are held in local community centres or other appropriate indoor venues.
Accessibility: Accessible work space
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
Creativity Workshops take place in-person on the second Saturday of each month, and virtually on the last Friday and Saturday of each month.
