Description The Socialization Volunteer will have the opportunity to learn in a real-life setting what skills and modalities are used to support people dealing with life issues including homelessness. By interacting with the clients at Cambridge Shelter, they will gain valuable learning. Especially beneficial for those pursuing a career in human services. The student volunteer will be under the supervision of shelter staff and assist in duties deemed appropriate by their supervisor. The Volunteer Shift is 2 to 3 hours once a week

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Will get an orientation to the organization and shadow a staff member to get a feel for the position. Working Conditions: Working with a dedicated team of staff. Standing and walking the majority of the shift. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Evening 2-3 hours a week depending on volunteers schedule
