Golf Fore Life is a specialized program supporting golfers living with dementia. The program is designed to provide those living with dementia a chance to continue playing, or return to, the sport they love.

Description
What will you be doing:
• Assisting a golfer one on one on the golf course, at the pitch and putt, and at the driving range. Caddy will drive a golf cart.
What are we looking for in a volunteer:
• Someone who has practical knowledge about the game of golf (for example how to play, golf etiquette etc.).
• Someone who has experience or is interested in supporting someone with dementia.
• Someone who is caring, understanding, friendly and outgoing.
• Someone who has good verbal communication skills.
• Someone who can commit to volunteering once a week.
Please note as part of the screening process for this role, applicants will be required to provide 2 non-family members references and a vulnerable police records check.

Training Details: One-on-one training provided by staff
Working Conditions: • Outdoor golf course setting
• Walking or driving a cart for 9 holes
• Driving range, pitch and putt

Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less
Weekday - Daytime
Day(s): Tuesdays, June 24 to September 2 and/or Thursdays, June 26 to August 28. Program is cancelled on July 1.
Commitment: Volunteer schedule to be discussed and determined with the Program coordinator. If you are interested in this role but are not able to commit to the full season, please contact staff to discuss occasional volunteer opportunities.
Position is a 10 week term.
