Impact Statement Do you LOVE playing with kids? Want to make a difference? Whether you're running a game of Cross Canada or teaching kids to make goop, you will have a blast as an Assistant to the Program Coordinator at our March Break program for kids 6-10 years old.

Description Imagine yourself on a bright and sunny morning greeting children as they arrive for March Break programming at the Mill Courtland Community Centre.
You will work with the Program Coordinator to set up supplies and equipment for games, crafts, and snack times. Under the Program Coordinator's supervision, you will assist the children in making friends, participating in activities, and feeling safe and heard.
After a half-day of games and activities, you will greet parents and guardians as they arrive for pick-up. You will end your day by assisting the Program Coordinator with tidying and preparing supplies for the next day.
The March Break program for children runs from Monday March 13, 2023 to Friday, March 17, 2023. Assistants will be expected to be present for all five days of programming, from 8AM- 1PM.
Assistants who meet the time expectations will receive a nominal honorarium as a gift for their dedication to the well-being of the young participants.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Assistants will receive two-hours of orientation and training one week prior to the start of March Break programming. Working Conditions: Assistants to the Program Coordinator will be working indoors and outdoors in a energetic setting with 20+ young children (6-10 years old). Assistants will be expected to conduct physical activities and move equipment and supplies, weighing less than 50 pounds.
The Mill Courtland Community Centre is a wheelchair accessible building with a gender-neutral washroom. We encourage volunteer involvement from all historically marginalized groups, including Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+ and Muslim people, and people living with a disability.
