   About the Position

By joining our Youth in Food Systems team, you can learn about and explore food systems while gaining skills and abilities for future career and personal aspirations.

Description
We are bringing on several high school youth to join Season 5 of our Food Leader Interview Series! Our youth Interviewers conduct virtual video interviews with professionals working in our food systems. This role is responsible for participating in virtual trainings, designing interview questions, communicating with their selected Interviewee, and carrying out an interview.

No prior experience is required! You must currently be a high school student or of high school age (14-19).

Our goal is to provide a flexible and self-driven atmosphere where you’re free to explore your interests, gain new skills, and ultimately contribute to an important youth-driven project!

What you’ll gain:
- Research, communication, and critical thinking skills
- One-on-one and group training in professionalism, communications, interviewing, and more
- An opportunity to build and contribute to knowledge sharing about agri-food careers
- 15 to 20+ community service hours during summer 2025

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Staff will carry out training sessions with all Interviewers - these are virtual, group sessions over Zoom. They will focus on some of the key skills needed to successfully interview a food leader - research, designing interview questions, communicating via email, using Zoom, and of course, practicing those interview skills!

This volunteer position is entirely remote, and we welcome volunteers from any location.
Working Conditions: Remote project. Youth participants should have access to a device and Internet access for onboarding, training sessions, emailing, researching, and to conduct the interview.

Duration: 3 months or less
Start Date:2025-07-07
End Date:2025-09-30
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Much of the work will take place on a self-selected schedule. There will be several afternoon/evening training sessions throughout July 2025
