Impact Statement To provide victims of crime and/or traumatic circumstances with support and referral options in co-operation with Regional emergency service providers such as police, fire, ambulance and other related community services.

Description Volunteers respond immediately to requests from emergency services and the community to assist all victims of crime and tragic circumstances by providing immediate crisis intervention, emotional and practical support, information, education. We operate from an empowerment perspective. We advocate where necessary and refer to community agencies at the scene or over the telephone 24/7.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Our 60 hour training program is a combination of in-class and e-learning modules which includes comprehensive subject matter: Domestic Violence, Suicide, Mental Health, Trauma and Crisis Intervention, Grief and Bereavement, Human Trafficking, Safety Planning, Cultural Sensitivity, Criminal Justice System, etc. Working Conditions: Volunteers must be 19 years or older and willing to commit to two years of service. A valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle and a Canadian cell phone are required. Cultural diversity is an asset. Accessibility: Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Anytime Volunteers must be willing to commit to 4 - 8 hour shifts. Volunteer choose their own shifts.
