Impact Statement The Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) is an incorporated non-profit entering with a mission to celebrate and inspire community through the shared experience of film. Through both an annual festival and year-round events, GRFF hosts local, Canadian, and international films with a programming mandate to explore diverse and unique perspectives and an aim to inspire community engagement. GRFF recognizes the power of film to connect people and works in partnership with organizations across the region to deliver impactful programming that builds relationships and encourages meaningful conversation.

Description Photographers are responsible for providing photographic coverage of: • GRFF events, specifically the current Cineseries and upcoming film festival running in May • Board of Directors, committee members, and event volunteers • Community-based photos to support GRFF’s newsletter, website and social media channels
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED: • Experience in capturing action and people photographs in high resolution • Strong visual sense for capturing emotion, movement, people connecting • A high-resolution camera and related equipment • Knowledge of photographic software and editing skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work independently, as well as to collaborate effectively • Strong organizational and responsive photo management skills • An interest in and commitment to community events and engagement

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: You will consult with the Director of Volunteers on all upcoming events and requirements. Working Conditions: Location will vary based on the event/setting. Accessibility: Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Evening, Anytime Throughout the year until the May festival, meetings will be held in person and virtually, connecting with the social media and communications team to understand their needs and provide input on the marketing direction.
GRFF’s annual festival takes place in May, in the Waterloo Region with most screenings starting at 7:30 pm (schedule to be finalized closer to the event). The photographer will need to be on site pre-screening to capture action shots of attendees and GRFF volunteers as well as capture images if there are any post-screening events such as guest speakers or Q&As.
