Converse and Connect

SPECTRUM Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space

   About the Position

Impact Statement
SPECTRUM is Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space. Our vision is of an inclusive community where all LGBTQ2+ individuals are welcomed, celebrated, and supported as their authentic selves.

SPECTRUM's peer support groups are great opportunities to meet other people, to talk about whatever you currently have on your mind, and to make new friends! These events are ideal for those that want to socialize in an 2SLGBTQ+ friendly setting.

Converse and Connect meets from 7-9 pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Whether you’re thinking about coming out, newly out, or out for ages, this group provides an opportunity to talk, share and connect with others in the 2SLGBTQ+ community aged 19+ in a safe, positive and supportive environment.

As a co-host for Converse and Connect, volunteers will require social and group facilitation skills and demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to the subject matter. Facilitators will be expected to welcome visitors, introduce them to others present, inform them of SPECTRUM resources if fitting, and facilitate and direct the conversations when necessary.
