Description Social Support Telephone Volunteers engage in weekly friendly and casual conversation with socially isolated and/or lonely seniors that have been referred or have self-referred to the program.
Experience/Skills -Ability to listen without judgement and support someone without trying to counsel, influence or provide advice. -Must be comfortable having conversations over the phone. -Fluent, efficient and articulate in English.
As part of the screening process, you will be asked for 2 references and a current Vulnerable Sector Check

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: In-person training prior to first shift Approximately: 2-2.5 hours Working Conditions: On-site, indoors
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible washroom, Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Duration: 4 - 6 months Weekday - Daytime Monday Morning – 10am – 12pm Monday Afternoon – 1 – 3pm Thursday Morning – 10 am – 12pm Thursday Afternoon – 1 – 3 pm Friday Morning – 10 am – 12pm Friday Afternoon – 1 – 3pm
