   About the Position

Impact Statement
City of Kitchener Community Association, providing information about community programs and resources. To oversee the development and coordination of all recreation programs offered by the Stanley Park Community Association

Through good communication, provide leadership for SPCA coordinators for all recreational programs
Annually determine the timeline for the coming year with City staff
Work with Newsletter Coordinator each session to proof draft copy
Instruct City Staff to contact Coordinators to deal with instructor/participant issues as they arise and ensure you are copied on all correspondence.
Arrange and chair Programming meetings (6/year) with coordinators
a couple of weeks after classes start and before Newsletter submission dates
Advise the Program Assistant of which programs need new instructors and assistants so they can recruit and hire, if needed
Advise the Publicity Chair / Coordinator if advertising is needed for new programs or programs with low registrations numbers
Confer with City staff regarding bookings for meetings and any programs run off location
Prepare a report for each Board meeting
Prepare program budgets and monitor monthly variances

Age: 18+

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training and Professional Development:
Basic Health and Safety, AODA, Facility Tour and evacuation training provided
Training and orientation will be provided by the Volunteer Management Consultant or outgoing Program Lead (if possible) within 8 weeks of acceptance of the position
Working Conditions: Office setting or work from home. Work independently
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Attend monthly board meetings (Third Tuesday of the month from 7-9 pm)
Attend and chair program meetings (6 per year)
Eight (8) hours a session to conduct meetings with coordinators, prepare and distribute minutes
Five (5) hours a session to help with and attend Orientation meetings, monitor registration numbers, follow up with coordinators
Twenty (20) or more hours a session for record keeping, problem solving, and attending to other duties as required
