Impact Statement The shopping program serves to meet the needs of older adults and adults with different abilities who have no other way to get to a grocery store to continue to live independently in the community.

Description Volunteers shop on behalf of the client from a list of groceries needed. Depending on service demand and volunteer availability, volunteers may shop for the same client or different clients. Volunteers may also support a client for a grocery store - picking them up from their home, assisting them in the store as needed, and driving them and their groceries home again. Flexible time commitment - you let us know when you are available from week to week! Mileage reimbursements available. Keep the Scheduling team informed regarding availability and immediately report any problems and/or concerns you may have.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: All volunteers will receive agency wide and program specific training before their first shift. The Program Coordinator is available to discuss concerns and to provide ongoing support as needed.
Community Support Connections offers regular volunteer educational workshops on various topics. All volunteers are notified of upcoming sessions. Working Conditions: Grocery shops will be completed in your own personal vehicle for clients within Kitchener, Cambridge or North Dumfries. Requirements: - Access to a safe and reliable vehicle - Have a valid G class driver's license - Minimum $1 million in liability car insurance Accessibility: Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months Weekday - Daytime Flexible time commitment. You tell us when you are available and we will match you with a client based on your availability. Each shopping shift takes approximately 2 hours.
