Description This position involves providing care to children 6-weeks to 2 years old, while their parents are in school and/or attending programs onsite. This program is only offered during the public-school year and is closed during all school holidays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the creation of a fun, welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment. Provide and engage in stimulating play opportunities that promote the development and wellbeing of the children. Help supervise and care for children while their parents are attending classes or programs. Clean and change diapers when needed. Assist with snack preparation and feeding. Help with set-up and clean-up of program space. Attend scheduled shifts and keep track of your time; enter hours using volunteer portal. Notify staff when absent.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Orientation will be provided. Staff will be available to provide ongoing support each week. Working Conditions: Indoors, Nursery/Childcare space Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Weekday - Daytime 2-3 hours per week, weekday mornings (9:15am to 11:45 am) or afternoons (12:30pm -2:30 pm). Program runs between September and June and requires a three-month commitment.
