   About the Position

Impact Statement
Carizon is a multi-service community organization committed to improving the future of individuals and families through supportive, therapeutic, and preventative programs.

Mentors provide social and emotional support through mentoring activities and discussions with high school aged students.

Establish relationships with students based on shared responsibility and respect
Display and/or model appropriate behaviour
Enforce expectations and rules for students in a positive and supportive fashion
Actively engage with students in activities and have fun
Support and engage students in learning moments
Share experiences, knowledge and talents with the group
Communicate openly and without judgement with students, other volunteers and staff
Sign-in for the scheduled shifts and keep track of the time spent in the program
Notify staff when absent

Position Qualifications

Ideal for: An Individual
Age: 18+ English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Work Without Supervision
COVID-19 Vactionation Required: Yes

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Orientation to role will be provided
Working Conditions: Indoor sports & activities at either Kingsdale or Chandler Mowat Community Centre
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers

Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Evening
Mondays or Thursdays from 4:30-7:30 pm
