Impact Statement Come out and have fun mentoring high school youth during a game of basketball or while playing a board game.

Description Pathways Hub programming is about providing opportunities for youth to explore who they are and help promote positive choices about who they can become. The program works to help students develop a wide range of skills, as well as supporting them as they discover a sense of themselves and their place in the world. Volunteers engage in physical and social activities alongside youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish relationships with students based on shared responsibility and respect. Actively engage with students in activities and have fun. Share experiences, knowledge and talents with the group. Communicate openly and without judgement with students, other volunteers and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Have an interest in working with high school youth. Ability to engage easily with youth in activities such as sports, board games, crafts, etc.

Ideal for: An Individual, Student Placement Age: 18+ English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Work Without Supervision COVID-19 Vaccination Required: Yes

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: On-site orientation will be provided. Working Conditions: Indoor sports & activities held at community centres in Kitchener. Proper indoor footwear needed. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Weekday - Evening Program runs 4:30-6:30 pm on: Mondays at Kingsdale Community Centre Wednesdays at Victoria Hills Community Centre Thursdays at Chandler Mowat Community Centre
