   About the Position

Impact Statement
As a volunteer leader with the Waterloo Wellington Self-Management Program, you will play a crucial role in facilitating workshops designed to support individuals living with chronic conditions.

Our Free self-management workshops provide participants with the tools and knowledge to manage their conditions more effectively, improving their quality of life. Through your leadership, empathy, and dedication, you will help foster a supportive community environment, empowering participants to take control and live life to the fullest.

Your involvement will not only enhance the lives of the participants but also contribute to the overall success and sustainability of our program.

Description
The Waterloo Wellington Self-Management Program is looking for 2 regulated healthcare providers to join their volunteer leader team to become Craving Change® certified facilitators.

Craving Change® is an educational program that helps individuals understand why they eat the way they do and take steps to change their eating habits. It provides cognitive-behavioural tools, activities and strategies developed by a clinical psychologist and a registered dietician.

The workshop is delivered as a 4 week series of weekly 2 hour sessions. You will be paired with a co-facilitator to help deliver the content of the program.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Successful candidates will be registered with Craving Change to complete their online facilitator training program- a self paced virtual training that leads to certification as a Craving Change® Facilitator. This training is paid for by our program.
Working Conditions: Workshops are delivered virtually via zoom and opportunities for in person throughout the Waterloo-Wellington region are based on your preference at various community partner locations.
Transportation: NONE Needed


Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Anytime
Workshops are booked based on facilitator availability. Volunteer leaders are asked to provide availability for a minimum of 2 workshops per year.
