   About the Position

Impact Statement
The Royal Medieval Faire is a magical day where the medieval period comes alive in the 21st century. The day is full of games, medieval vendors and performers, including dramatic productions, musicians and swordplay. Every year, the Faire relies on dedicated volunteers to bring the festival alive and attract thousands of patrons for the annual event.

Description
Assist the Coordinator of Volunteers with volunteer recruitment, coordination, orientation, training, deployment & recognition.

Responsibilities:
• Assist Coordinator of Volunteers with volunteer recruitment by emailing past volunteers to ask them to volunteer, responding to email queries.
• Assist Coordinator of Volunteers with delivering training and orientation sessions for all Faire volunteers and on-site Coordinators - to be offered in advance of the Faire and included in information packages
• Maintain a list of volunteers with emergency contact information
• Ensure all volunteers receive information packages and task/scheduling reminders, prior to the Faire
• Assist Coordinator of Volunteers in developing a volunteer shifts and schedules for all areas of the Faire and recruit sufficient, suitable volunteers
• Oversee Faire volunteer sign-in and on-site supervision. Assign volunteers to shifts for faire day.
• Attend meetings as required.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: • Training, orientation and support provided by a Board member or Coordinator.
Working Conditions: Outdoor festival - self care required (proper clothing consideration for a full day).
Some work on the computer at home.
Transportation: Car required


Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Start Date:2024-06-01
End Date:2024-09-22
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening, Anytime
• A few hours per month between April and end of September with more hours concentrated around August-September.
• Commitment required to manage and lead volunteers the day of the event on September 21, 2024 from 8am to 8pm (includes set up and take down of festival).
• Attend board meetings as arranged. Time required throughout the year for the above responsibilities is flexible and within the control of the Coordinator.
