Summer Day Camp Volunteer

The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario with a large feature gallery that showcases local and traveling exhibits from around the world, and our permanent gallery which tells the story of Waterloo Region.

Description Provide assistance to staff with the preparation and delivery of children's activities and crafts throughout the summer. Summer Day Camps for children ages 5-10 years run from June 28th through August 30th. Camp themes will rotate weekly between Curiosity Camp and STEAM Camp.
This is a great opportunity for high school students to accumulate the volunteer hours they need for graduation! This position is ideal for volunteers who are interested in developing their leadership skills. Experience working or interacting with children is preferred but not required.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Volunteers will always be directly supervised by staff. Position specific training will be provided. Working Conditions: Camp activities take place indoors and outdoors. Volunteers may need to help set up yard games, craft materials, items for outdoor play, moving tables, chairs, etc. Volunteers must be able to tolerate outdoor summer temperatures and participate in energetic activities for long periods of time. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Start Date:2024-06-28 End Date:2024-08-30 Weekday - Daytime Volunteer shifts are available 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Monday to Friday during July and August.
