Cambridge Thrift Store
Saint Vincent de Paul has thrift stores serving communities in Ontario. They provide people the opportunity to donate gently used clothing, furniture and household items. Many items are sold at affordable prices to the general public to help fund our charitable activities. Many items go to the poor at no cost to them. Any profits go to benefit those in our communities who are in need.
The Cambridge Thrift Store is operated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) in Cambridge, Ontario. It is a collaborative effort of SSVP groups at 5 local churches: St. Mary's, St. Clements, St. Gregory's, St. Patrick's, and St. Ambrose.
In addition to its retail operation, the store assists people needing help to establish a new home with beds, furnishings and household goods. It does so by working with the 5 parish SSVP groups and local social service agencies such as the Family Outreach team at the House of Friendship, Lutherwood and Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. While some items are sold at a low cost to the partnering organization to keep the store operating, other items are provided at no cost to the recipient.
