   About the Position

Impact Statement
A Volunteer is a member of our team who serves without salary under staff supervision and direction. Service is of a non-professional nature that adds an important ingredient to healthcare - compassion for people. A volunteer has the time and opportunity to create an atmosphere of friendliness and good will. Volunteers help to Make Moments Matter for our residents and their loved ones.

Board members have the responsibilities of:

Duty of Care: Take care of the nonprofit by ensuring prudent use of all assets, including facility, people, and good will.

Duty of Loyalty: Ensure that the nonprofit's activities and transactions are, first and foremost, advancing its mission; Recognize and disclose conflicts of interest; Make decisions that are in the best interest of the nonprofit corporation; not in the best interest of the individual board member (or any other individual or for-profit entity).

Duty of Obedience: Ensure that the nonprofit obeys applicable laws and regulations; follows its own bylaws; and that the nonprofit adheres to its stated corporate purposes/mission.

LIH is currently seeking ideally individuals with skills, knowledge and expertise in areas of (but not limited to):
1. Medical, Health Care & Clinical Care
2. Financial & Accounting
3. Fund Development
4. Human Resources

Working Conditions: Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice endeavours to create a Board of Directors that represents the diversity of the community in which it services.
Transportation: Car required

Duration: 3 months or less
