   About the Position

Impact Statement
The KW Branch of Toronto Cat Rescue finds homes for abandoned, sick or injured cats from situations of abuse, neglect or imminent euthanasia.

As a veterinary clinic representative, you will work as a part of a multi-faceted team. The role entails booking vet appointments at our vet clinic partners across the city. Sometimes, coordinating transportation for the appointments will be required. The volunteer candidate will work with the healthcare team to keep case notes updated.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond to requests in a prompt manner
- Liaise with veterinary clinics, foster homes and other involved volunteers throughout the booking process
- Discuss medical outcomes with the veterinary staff

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training new members takes time. As such, we ask that applicants be available to commit to at least 6 months of their time.
Working Conditions: Medical, rescue or shelter experience or extensive knowledge of cat health through fostering.
- Basic understanding of common illnesses and treatment/medications, as well as ability to learn cat-related medical terminology.
- Available throughout the day on a flexible schedule to communicate with vet clinics on procedures and requests for diagnostic testing and to respond to email in a timely manner.
- Access to a smartphone and computer/laptop.Proficient with Google applications (Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, Smartsheets, etc.) and a willingness to learn - training will be provided
- Strong teamwork and professional communication skills to liaise with veterinary clinics and keep staff and volunteers on the Healthcare Team in the loop.
- Detail oriented work ethic and ability to follow strict TCR Protocols and Guidelines, using good judgement.
- Ability to work under pressure and make difficult, objective decisions in accordance with TCR best practices philosophy and internal policies.

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
