Group Facilitators

Virtual Drop-In

SPECTRUM Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space

   About the Position

Impact Statement
SPECTRUM's social drop-in events are great opportunities to meet other people, to talk about whatever you currently have on your mind, and to make new friends! These events are ideal for those that want to socialize in an 2SLGBTQ+ friendly setting.

As a host for the drop-in, volunteers will require social and group facilitation skills and demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to the subject matter. Facilitators will be expected to welcome visitors, introduce them to others present, inform them of SPECTRUM resources if fitting, and facilitate and direct the conversations when necessary.

Facilitators are needed across SPECTRUM programming and with skills and experience that match the subject matter. Volunteers interested in group facilitation are required to attend two drop-in programs in advance of working with SPECTRUM to Identify areas of interest. Check out the Rainbow Community Calendar for program dates and times.

You can represent SPECTRUM at virtual events by greeting participants as they arrive, and introducing them to SPECTRUM and other participants. You would be responsible for facilitating or directing conversations and encourage participants to support one another, ensuring everyone who wants to participate gets the opportunity to do so while providing an atmosphere that is inclusive of all, where individuals feel comfortable to share their thoughts and experiences.

Send a resume to [email protected] to apply.
