Are you a feminist who is passionate about improving the lives of women and children in our region? The YW KW is looking for changemakers to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play an important role in shaping the future of YW Kitchener-Waterloo.

The YW is led by an all-women Board of Directors. These strong leaders ensure that women’s voices are heard in the community and that our services reflect the needs of women today.
Description As a Board Member, you will:
 Set the policies and administer the affairs of the YW KW
 Contribute to the development of the strategic plan
 Establish and participate in sub-committees
 Keep the membership informed throughout the year of important developments regarding the association and seek the guidance of the members on policy decisions affecting the association
 Provide a program of board development
 Attend board meetings monthly (remote & over zoom temporarily) and participate in fundraising events and campaigns
 Employ a Chief Executive Officer
 Approve an annual association budget
 Secure the human and financial resources necessary in order that the association may participate in any area, regional, national or international meetings that might benefit the YWCA movement as a whole
Training Details Orientation and training will be provided
Duration 1 year or more
Timing Anytime
Time Detail Meetings (virtual or in-person) are the first Tuesday evening of each month. Meetings and events may occur outside of monthly meetings from time to time.
