Impact Statement As a community lawyer for the local nonprofits iHelp, and the KW Afghan Association, you will be working collaboratively to alleviate inequality, especially for the newcomer population. You will also have the opportunity to network with other lawyers in the community service field, and expand your relationship with the local community, assisting individuals in need.

Description We are looking for individuals with proficiency in giving legal advice who are passionate to make a difference in their community! Your responsibilities include: Provide legal assistance and communicate legal information in plain language to members of the iHelp community. Assist in the planning, development, and writing of legal information resources for iHelp. Maintain existing legal information resources to ensure legal accuracy. Act as a pro bono legal representative for our community members, whether this be filing forms or making case arguments for those otherwise unable to hire a lawyer. This will contribute to completing our organisational mandate of building community and reducing inequalities.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: iHelp will provide thorough onboarding to familiarize you with our organization and objectives. Working Conditions: This volunteer role will be conducted virtually and in person. The schedule is flexible, and will be arranged in coordination with iHelp’s Executive Director, who you will work closely with. This position is perfect for both new graduates and retired lawyers who are eager to contribute and give back to our local community. Accessibility:

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime This is a flexible placement; volunteers will be scheduled according to their own availability.
