Position Assistant Treasurer

Impact Statement The K-W Chamber Orchestra presents a season of at least 5 concerts with a group of professional, semi-professional and highly-skilled students from the Waterloo community. The Assistant Treasurer is a Board position with signing authority who holds responsibility for all financial issues to do with the operations of the Orchestra.
Description Oversees all financial statements, budgets and official reporting requirements to governments and other authorities. Prepares & co-signs cheques. Maintains books and records. Oversees budget development and presentation. Works closely with the General Manager. Advises the Board at every meeting (about 10 per year) of current budget and financial situation.
Training Details Work with current Treasurer until comfortable with job. Ideal to possess or be pursuing Accounting designation, have some professional experience and knowledge of accounting for not-for-profit organizations. English proficiency.
Working Conditions Work from home; work closely with General Manager.
Duration 1 year or more
Timing Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening
Time Detail 2-3 hours a month plus up to 10 Board meetings per year
