Peer Support Facilitator

Grief Support Groups

Bereaved Families of Ontario - Midwestern Region

   About the Position

Impact Statement
Your grief experience can bring hope and healing. All of our programs are facilitated by volunteer facilitators who are themselves bereaved. Hearing experiences, stories and coping strategies from a peer has a profound effect on people who are grieving and helps normalize the grief experience. You get it. You've been there.

All of our grief support groups are facilitated by volunteers who are themselves bereaved, and offer a unique compassion and empathetic understanding of grief and grief support to our program members. Using your own bereavement experience, as a peer support facilitator, you will believe in the benefits of peer support to facilitate bereaved individuals in a group setting.

We are looking for volunteers to facilitate two of our grief support groups:
- bereaved individuals to facilitate our mixed loss Living with Loss group.
- bereaved individuals who have experienced a drug or alcohol related death to facilitate our Living with Loss by Substance Use group.
