Position: Youth Getting Connected Assistant - Pathways to Education

Impact Statement: Carizon is a multi-service community organization committed to improving the future of individuals and families through supportive, therapeutic and preventative programs.
Description: Pathways to Education - Youth Getting Connected, is a 3-year pilot project starting in the Centreville-Chicopee & Victoria Hills area. The Youth Getting Connected program supports students who are in grade eight in the 2018-2019 school year with the goal of easing the transition from elementary to high school and providing academic, advocacy, financial and 1:1 supports to students and their families.
Training Details: Youth and Family Support Workers will be in attendance during all programming and will provide you with an orientation your first evening!
Working Conditions: Placements will occur at two community centres in Kitchener. Mondays at the Victoria Hills Community Centre at 10 Chopin Drive and Tuesdays at 141 Morgan Avenue.
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekday - Evening
Time Detail: Mondays – Victoria Hills Community Centre
Tuesdays – Centreville-Chicopee Community Centre
Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Starting Date: April 2019
Volunteers are asked to make a commitment to one program.
Age: 16+
