Position: Performers Coordinator - Royal Medieval Faire
Location: Waterloo Park, 50 Young Street West, Waterloo, ON, Canada
Impact Statement: Now in its 22nd season, the Royal Medieval Faire is a magical day where the medieval period comes alive in the 21st century. The day is full of games, medieval vendors and performers, including dramatic productions, musicians and swordplay. Every year, the Faire relies on dedicated volunteers to bring the festival alive and attract thousands of patrons for the annual event.
Description: As the coordinator of the performers you will work with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors to determine the Faire’s entertainment line-up; Finalize performer contracts and confirm bookings; Collect biographies from performers and submit to the Graphic Designer for the Faire’s website; Arrange for suitable sound equipment rental and set-up, as required by the performers; Greet and assist performers during the Faire; Coordinate performer honoraria with the Artistic Director and Finance Administrator; Solicit feedback from performers and provide performance analysis reports post Faire.
Training Details: Orientation and training provided by the organization.
Working Conditions: Work on computer and email independently. Occasional meetings. Support and training provided by friendly board member. Full day on-site in the park day expected.
Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: Hours will vary throughout the year. The time commitment is roughly 1 to 5 hours per week. Hours will increase as the day of the Faire approaches. Post Faire (October – March) will have minimal hours. Work during hours that best suit volunteer's schedule.
Hours on Faire day, Saturday, September 21 will be 8:30am to 6:00pm
Attend monthly board meetings as required.
One-year commitment: option to renew with Royal Medieval Faire Board approval
