Shelter Movers provides moving and storage services at no cost to women and children fleeing abuse. We are the only organization of our kind in Canada, and our volunteers are no less exceptional. Every year, in collaboration with community partners, our volunteer teams contribute over 15,000 hours to support people transitioning to lives free of violence and abuse. At our core, we aim to remind survivors of their intrinsic worth and the power they are reclaiming in their decision to leave an abusive relationship. At the end of the day, our story is made up of many stories, starting with those of survivors. |
Description |
Scheduling Coordinators recruit volunteers to join move teams, working from Shelter Movers’ database of active volunteers to create, send, and respond to emails. They are the ‘voice’ of Shelter Movers in our volunteers' inboxes, sharing opportunities to help with positivity, encouragement, a sense of purpose, and the joy of our work. As a Scheduling Coordinator at Shelter Movers: You’ll be supporting women and children fleeing violence and abuse while gaining experience in service coordination in a social service agency. Essential that you have access to e-mail; strong written communication skills; able to write in a positive, professional ‘voice’; attention to detail, strong organizational skills, with consistent follow-up; ability to work independently and as part of a team |

Working Conditions | Based on your availability, you will be assigned specific days (1-3) for which you will be responsible to perform the Scheduling Coordinator role duties. |

Time Detail | Approximately 8-10 hours a week. Please note: the work of scheduling isn’t performed in a single continuous ‘shift’; it involves communication and responding to messages during your chosen work hours. |
