   About the Position

Impact Statement
Men who wish to be allies with the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region assist with the work in ending sexual violence against women and uphold the values of the centre within the community.

The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region (SASC) is a community based, non-profit agency. We support survivors of sexual violence. We listen, facilitate healing, and celebrate resiliency. Using an intersectional feminist approach, we work to transform systems that promote gender-based violence. Our Vision is a world without sexual violence and oppression.

As a Male Allies Volunteer, you would educate and work with men and boys in your own life to end violence against women. Also, other activities may include;

-Participate in public education opportunities as requested by SASC.
-Organize independent fundraising activities in support of SASC.
-Support SASC initiatives as requested.

Position Qualifications

Ideal for: An Individual
Age: 18+

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Comprehensive training is required and provided free of charge. Training programs will run semi-annually based on interest. Usually 6 weeks, one evening a week.
Working Conditions: Various settings and scenarios

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening
