Impact Statement The Literacy Group of Waterloo Region (TLG) is looking for visionary and talented members to join our Board of Directors. Join us and help our agency meet the needs of the community by assisting adults with low levels of literacy. TLG is a community-based organization that provides accessible literacy training services to empower adults to reach their goals and improve their quality of life by upgrading their skills in reading, writing, numeracy, computer & workplace Essential Skills through our volunteer tutor base. We serve a diverse group of people in the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and rural Waterloo Region

Description We seek new Board members who are: • Passionate about literacy and/or the importance of skills improvement • Active in the community and wanting to serve and make a positive difference • Able to devote the time necessary to meet strategic plan goals • Goal oriented with strong commitment to achieve projected outcomes • Fundraising and/or event -planning skills are asset

Training Details: Orientation and mentoring will be provided.
