Position Socializer - Men's Shelter
Location 475 King Street North, Waterloo, ON, Canada
Impact Statement House of Friendship's shelter provides emergency housing and support finding long-term housing for men ages 16 or older. Volunteers are integral in maintaining a welcoming environment for the men.
Description Volunteers interact with the program participants in a positive manner, cooperating with the team at the shelter.

Main Duties include:
• Playing board games, cards, etc. with the shelter guests
• Helping to maintain a positive environment in the shelter
• Welcoming guests in a friendly and courteous manner
Training Details A thorough training session is provided. An interview, police check (reimbursed) and reference check will be required.
Working Conditions Indoors. Volunteers will work with men from a diverse background.
Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Evening
Time Detail We ask volunteers to commit to a weekly shift, with a minimum six-month commitment
