Impact Statement
The Literacy Group is a non for profit adult education centre that develops and delivers accessible and effective literacy programs. We support adults who want to upgrade their skills in reading, writing, numeracy, computer and workplace essential skills. The delivery of our services is possible through the dedicated collaborative work of our experienced staff and volunteers.
TLG needs your help! 34% of people living in our community struggle with reading information, filling out forms and numeracy. Many live in poverty, trying to support families on minimum wages & with a highly technical world. Volunteer as a 1-1 tutor, office support, fundraising & special events. Help us make a difference by helping people move from Poverty to Possibilities!

Description
Do you have strong communication skills? Are you able to connect with people and be personable? We are looking for someone who has passion and the ability to support up to grade 10 numeracy and literacy skills.
In this role you would assist in the delivery of weekly workshops for a period of at least 3 months per year.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: All volunteers will complete an online training and in class program to support their skills in adult education.
Working Conditions: We see people who are able to work collaboratively with and independently of the Group Facilitator, create inspirational and effective resources either by hand or digitally, support the marking of homework and assessments.

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening
Be available for at least 3 months per year.
