Impact Statement Volunteers play a valuable role at both houses; their support is vital and integral to the ongoing operation of the hospice and is greatly appreciated.

Description Following your training, you will prepare soup for residents, manage kitchen storage, maintain kitchen areas to Public Health standards, assist with grocery list preparation. Volunteers must demonstrate a knowledge and enjoyment of cooking, ability to handle kitchen equipment. Volunteer must follow proper hygiene and cleaning practices and have strong oral communication skills.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: A 10-hour training class and orientation to position required and provided upon successful acceptance. Criminal Record and Judicial Matters check is mandatory. Volunteers must complete some training annually. Working Conditions: Standing for up to 4 hours; kitchen environment. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime Mornings and afternoons 10:00am to 2:00pm. Choose to volunteer only one shift per week (Monday to Friday) OR one per month (Saturday or Sunday)
