   About the Position

Impact Statement
To mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Purpose: At our Habitat building site, daily lunch and snacks are prepared and served to 10 – 40 volunteers. Frequently, this food is donated by members of the community. When we do not have donations, our hospitality volunteer team prepares the food that Habitat has provided. Our hospitality volunteers are also responsible for all kitchen cleaning duties.

Assignment Responsibilities:
• Work as a team in the kitchen; be encouraging and supportive of others
• Serve snacks and lunch to our volunteers daily
• Coordinate, prepare and cook luncheons as per set menu
• Barbeque occasionally
• Welcome lunch donors. Assist them with set-up and serve
• Stock/clean fridges, the hospitality area and kitchen
• Inventory food needs, beverages and coffee supplies
• Refill coffee & tea condiments as needed
• Support and deliver on any other tasks

Age: 14+ Confidentiality, Work Without Supervision

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: This position will be directly supervised and supported by the on-site Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. Training, feedback, and evaluations will be provided throughout the volunteering assignment.

• Working in fluctuating temperatures

Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Daytime
Hospitality-Food Services Associate volunteers are needed daily from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, as often as possible.
