Description As part of the Salvage team, volunteers assist in the safe and gentle removal of products and materials from renovators and individuals who are undertaking renovations. Removals consist primarily of kitchens, although they are not restricted to this. Volunteers may also help deliver these products to the ReStore(s) and may assist in the repair of salvaged materials, as directed.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Your first step to becoming a Salvage volunteer is to attend an online Salvage Orientation (1 hour).
Necessary training regarding the actual salvage will be provided by experienced Habitat Waterloo Region volunteers/staff on site. Working Conditions: * Volunteers should have some basic home renovation skills * Must own your own CSA-approved green patch footwear * Be capable of lifting 50 lbs * Locations vary throughout Waterloo Region, so you must be able to provide your own transportation.

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime, Anytime Salvage events take, on average, a few hours in the morning. The volume of donations will determine the frequency of need for volunteers.
