Impact Statement JA programs enable youth to develop critical life skills, reach their highest potential and achieve success. These programs develop future business and community leaders. Youth will be more likely to seek post secondary education, get better jobs, and create economic prosperity.
Description This is a free after-school program which builds student confidence, independence and resilience. Supported by mentors through decisions and implications; students learn that it's okay to fail. They will learn to overcome challenges and solve problems in order to succeed. Participants gain transferable skills such as conflict resolution, teamwork, critical thinking and more.

From the week of October 21st to the week of April 6th, groups of students work alongside volunteer Mentors to learn the steps of conducting a small business. The program will take place at Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (Monday nights), and Grand Innovations (Tuesday Nights).

Students involved in this program learn all the ins and outs of building their own corporation, including selling shares to gain capital, production and promotion of their chosen product, electing a management team, producing share-holder reports, and more.

Training Details Online training will be provided to all Company Program volunteers on October 7th, 6:00pm-7:30pm. After registering to volunteer, a training login will be provided to you.

Timing Weekday - Evening
Time Detail After-School Company Program run once a week, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., from the week October 21st to the week of April 6th.
